leaders. We have over 100 years of combined experience
in plant science, biotechnology, agriculture and pharmaceuticals. Sundeep Bhan, CEO Prior to starting Terasol, Sundeep was the President/CEO
and co-founder of Medsite, Inc. Sundeep was responsible
for driving the business vision, strategy, value growth
and the successful sale of the company to WebMD (NASDAQ:
WBMD). Sundeep was instrumental in establishing Medsite
as one of the leading online biotech and pharmaceutical
marketing and services companies in the healthcare sector,
and in securing financing from a range of blue chip
investors, including JP Morgan Partners, Morgan Stanley,
Bain, Reuters, etc. On several occasions Medsite was
featured as a top 50 company in the D&T Fast500.
At Medsite, for his leadership role, he was recognized
as a “Mover and Shaker” in the industry
by Frost & Sullivan. Sundeep also served as Chairman
of the Board of Directors of Medsite. Before founding
Medsite, he served as President of Oblisk Interactive,
LLC, a healthcare software company. Overall, Sundeep
has over thirteen years of leadership experience in
technology, marketing and healthcare. Sundeep received his B.A. in Communications from the
Annenberg School of Communications at the University
of Pennsylvania, with a concentration in business from
the Wharton School. Sundeep was recognized as the ‘Top
5 Under 35’ by the Asian Indian Chambers of Commerce.
He was a finalist for the Ernst & Young 2005, 2003
and 2000 "Entrepreneur of the Year" award
and was a recipient of the Project Impact Creating a
Voice Award in recognition of outstanding contributions
to American Community Affairs. The Asian American Business
Development Center recognized him as an ‘Outstanding
50 Asian Americans in Business’ in 2004. Sundeep
was a Director of the Board of Matthews Medical, the
largest distributor of medical books, supplies and software.
Sundeep currently serves on the Advisory Boards of Kashmir’s
Arts Exhibition at the Asia Society and KNB Communications.
Sundeep has been featured in major publications and
has been a keynote speaker at numerous conferences and
has served as a guest lecturer for the Goergen Entrepreneurial
Management Program at the Wharton School. Sundeep was
born in India, and came to the U.S. at the age of thirteen.
He is married to a Brazilian, has two children and lives
in New York. Sanjay Pingle, President Prior to co-founding Terasol, Sanjay was EVP and co-founder
of Medsite an industry-leading biotechnology and pharmaceutical
marketing firm. Sanjay led Medsite's growth in sales,
marketing and executive management. Sanjay was instrumental
in Medsite raising $85mm from blue-chip investors and
in being named a market leader by Forrester Research,
Jupiter and Frost & Sullivan among others. Sanjay
was part of the team that led and negotiated Medsite's
sale in 2006 to WebMD (NASDAQ: WBMD). Prior to Medsite Sanjay was co-founder of Oblisk Interactive,
a healthcare software company and worked as a management
consultant at Kaiser Associates in Washington, DC and
London. Pingle currently serves on the board of directors
of KFI, a non-profit organization dedicated to international
education as well as the board of the Vedanta Cultural
Foundation. Sanjay was a recipient of the World Business
Forum Entrepreneurship award in 2004. Sanjay was born
in London and received his B.S. with a concentration
in finance from the Wharton School of Business at the
University of Pennsylvania. Sanjay and his wife live
in New York and are the proud parents of a one year-old
girl. Fernando Bodstein, CFO Mr. Bodstein has over 30 years of finance, business
development and management experience in Latin America.
Prior to joining Terasol, Mr. Bodstein worked in various
capacities with IBM Corp., including serving as CFO
of IBM Venezuela, treasurer of IBM Brazil and former
General Manager of IBM Brazil Leasing. Fernando is currently
a member of the Board of Directors of the IBM Brazil
Pension Fund. Mr. Bodstein holds a B.S. in electrical
engineering from State University, Rio de Janeiro and
an M.S. in finance from Catholic University, Rio de
Janeiro. Charles Hefner, GM Operations Brazil For the past ten years, Mr. Hefner has worked in the
agricultural industry in Brazil. Prior to joining Terasol,
Charlie was involved in building a feedstock origination
program for biodiesel production operations. Mr. Hefner
has over 15 years of experience in Latin American agribusiness,
with a focus on risk management and operations. Charlie
has dual US and Brazilian citizenship and has lived
in various countries in Latin America for 20 years.
Mr. Hefner has a B.A. from Texas Tech University and
an M.B.A. from Thunderbird Graduate School of Global
Management. Marcelo Khair, VP Business Development As the VP of Business Development, Marcelo is responsible
for identifying key opportunities and developing partnerships
in Latin America. Prior to joining Terasol, Marcelo worked as a consultant
for Biofuels Americas - Outlook 2020, the Inter American
Development Bank initiative on renewable fuels. He has
vast experience with government regulations, public
policy, and legislative activities in renewable energy
in Latin America. In Brazil, Marcelo has worked as a
legal aide in the field of Intellectual Property for
some of Brazil’s leading law firms, and has served
as a consultant for Sector Development at Brazil’s
first Business Incubator for Social and Environmental
Projects and Entrepreneurs. He is currently an adviser
for the Young Entrepreneurs Committee of the Rio de
Janeiro Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Khair received his law degree from Pontifícia
Universidade Católica Law School, and his Master’s
degree in International Relations from Georgetown University.
He is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association.
