Agronomist (Brazil)

The Role
  • Reports to GM Brazil
  • Oil bearing crops like castor, jatropha, rape-seed, mustard, soya etc will be the principal focus
  • Carry out field trials under different agro-ecological regimes to identify the best suited varieties and evaluate the best suited agronomic practices for raising commercial plantations of identified crops
  • Plan and carry out suitable trials, document, collate and present field data and draw valid conclusions
  • Identify resources, plan and achieve targeted crop yields in company's own farms (captive farming)
  • Merchanise as many activities as are feasible and employ skilled labour force in strategic operations with a view to reduce supply chain links and maximise efficiency without compromising on quality
  • Lead a team of agriculture professionals in various activities identified above
  • Train, guide, motivate and administer a team of educated and skilled work force
  • Interact , share, educate and learn from local farming communities in pursuit of company's collaborative farming activities as cluster farming, cooperative farming. corporate farming etc.
  • Liaise and interact with leading research and academic institutions to assimilate current developments in agriculture and to adopt them in the day to day activities at the farm
  • Interact and liaise with government departments and officials relating to agriculture to promote the activities of the company
The Candidate
  • Apostgraduate in agronomy of field crops with specialisation in oil crops
  • Minimum of 10 years work experience of which five years would have been in a supervisory position
  • Thorough understanding of operations of a large farm including sources of supplies of seeds, fertilisers, farm chemicals, other supplies, machinery and equipment
  • Good knowledge of post-harvest management, preservation, storage and transportation logistics of farm produce to processing centres
  • Thorough knowledge of safe use of farm chemicals including that of human- and animal-health/welfare measures
  • Understanding of operation and maintenance of farm machinery, equipment and vehicles
  • Experience in preparing operational budget, identifying and recruiting suitable talent; manage skilled and semi-skilled work force
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the country and supervise multi locational activities in remote or rural areas
  • Computer literacy
  • Bilingual competency in Portuguese and English (speak, read and write)
  • Previous work experience in governmental agency or organisation in relevant field would be an added advantage

Sales Executive (India)

Sales teams are structured according to regions.

The Role
This is a high-adrenaline, client-facing sales role requiring deep industry expertise, proven sales ability with a particular penchant for closing deals, and a broad base of industry contacts. You understand and anticipate how decisions are made, and you'll persistently explore and uncover the business needs of your key clients. The Senior Sales Executive reports to the COO. Duties of this position include: Develops territory sales plans, including prospect identification and database creation, on behalf of the company. Determines client communications strategies to maximize territory sales volume, including frequency of personal visits to client , solicitation efforts, and telephone contact. Responsible for prospecting and establishing new client relationships. Prepares, contacts and manages client communication during all phases of pre-sale and post-sales process. Responsible for maintaining accurate account records on behalf of the company, including contact information and activity reports for distribution up to the President. This is a field sales position. It is expected that the SE will travel approximately 30% - 50% of the time.

The Candidate
Candidates must possess 7-10 years of executive sales experience, with a proven track record of developing new territories and exceeding sales quota. Candidates will demonstrate critical thinking ability and an analytical mind. The Ability to 'think on your feet' and provide real-time analysis and solutions to problems is critical. Past sales experience should include c-level consultative B2B selling. Agribusiness and/or bio-energy experience is a plus. The successful candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, present a professional demeanor and strong work ethic, and enjoy working on a team. BA/BS with strong academic performance required, Master's degree a plus. The candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the use of the internet and basic computer applications. Experience with CRM software is a plus.
